Mode 2 charging: check the supply first

A Type 2 vehicle connector is only half the check

The ZeesungEnergy European portable Mode 2 configuration uses a 16A single-phase European industrial plug on the supply side and a Type 2 vehicle connector. Its documented maximum is 3.6 kW / 16 A, single-phase. A Type 2 vehicle inlet does not establish that the site supply is suitable.

Two conceptual paths: charging point and cable; supply and portable control unit.
Upper path: Type 2 charging point → cable → vehicle. Lower path: matching supply → Mode 2 unit → vehicle. Connection details must be checked on the exact equipment. Concept illustration; not to scale. Not product photography or installation instructions.

Before choosing or connecting

  1. Confirm the exact wall-side plug on the product documentation and the intended site socket. A country name or a familiar-looking socket is not enough.
  2. Have a qualified professional confirm the circuit, protective arrangements and suitability for the intended EV-charging use. Do not infer this from the socket rating alone.
  3. Check the vehicle’s AC requirements, the product instructions and the permitted operating conditions together.
  4. Measure the usable route and check the position of the control unit. The current length options are 5 m, 7.5 m and 10 m; a longer cable does not solve an unsuitable supply.

What this configuration includes

The documented unit has a display, local controls and scheduling. It has no app, Wi-Fi or vehicle battery state-of-charge display. This guide does not establish approval for adapters or extension leads; do not treat an unverified combination as an approved setup.

If the supply is uncertain

Record the destination, exact product configuration and known supply information for a selection enquiry. Do not open an electrical socket or dismantle equipment to collect details. If you instead have a compatible Type 2 charging-point socket, compare the separate Type 2 cable path.
